Swope Park, the largest park in Kansas City is spread on an area of about 1,769 acre of land donated by Colonel Thomas H. Swope. The park was constructed in 1896 and is considered as the second-largest city park in the US. The park houses lots of attractions including Starlight Theater, an 8000 seat outdoor theater, two golf courses, Kansas City Zoological Park, ten shelter houses and training grounds for the Kansas City Wizards, baseball diamonds, soccer fields and a swimming pool.
