The Starved Rock State Park in Utica, Illinois captures your attention the moment you step into the park. Nothing can second the unbound beauty & miles of unexplored trails that this state park offers.
Rightly known as the most beautiful place of Illinois, the Starved Rock State Park is one of the most popular attractions of north-central Illinois. Nestled amongst 2,630 acres of lush green forests, the park leaves you mesmerized with its scenic waterfalls, naturally carved sandstone canyons & an extensive variety of wildflowers.
The Starved Rock Park is best known for its fascinating sandstone rock formations & the 18 canyons formed by stream erosion & water from glacial melt. The park offers the perfect setting for recreations like boating, horseback riding, picnicking, hiking, camping, fishing, etc. Besides the miles of unexplored trails along the Illinois River are something one cannot miss.
Spring is a special time at the Starved Rock Park when one can witness sparkling waterfalls rolling down the moss covered walls. Complimenting this scenic beauty are the ever changing display of 200 different varieties of wildflowers that the park houses.
Lodging is not a problem at the Starved Rock State Park with the historic Starved Rock Lodge & Conference Center located on a bluff overlooking the Illinois River & the Visitor Center. The lodge is open for public all year & access to the park is free.
