Museum of Natural Science, Jackson

Founded in 1933 by Francis A. Cook as a part of the Mississippi Game and Fish Commission, the Museum of Natural Science is the largest and the premier museum in the state of Mississippi today. It is located in LeFleur's Bluff State Park which is also a great tourist attraction of the state and this is reason why the importance of the Museum has automatically increased.
State's systematic collections: This contains more than a million specimens of fish, reptiles, amphibians, birds, mammals, invertebrates, plants, and fossils. 1,700-square foot Greenhouse: this is quite unique containing an assortment of fascinating creatures, including alligators. There are some other amazing exhibits too in the museum like habitat exhibits, and nature trails.
